Linux Format App Reviews

Future Plc makes terrible magazine app. It is almost impossible to get a subscription from them that will work on more than one device (iPhone and iPad). They seem to make you purchase the magazines more than once if you want to read it on your iPhone and iPad. You are better off subscribing to their pdf format...at least with that you can read on a PC and multiple devices.

Just getting started with Linux but this mag is very helpful.

No option to save articles to evernote. ok., i read a good article about how to solve something but now i want to save it for later use - no option .:-(

There is no better Linux magazine on the market! Simply the best!

I used to run to my local brick & mortar bookstore to get these magazines as soon as the new issue was available. Then I found this wonderful app. Now for much less I get the current issue and dont have to do anything besides open the app.

This would have been a 5-star review. However: If you buy your subscription through iTunes (for full price), you can only read your issues on Apple-branded hardware. If you create an account on their website, and buy that way, you can then sign in and read on anything. Support wont even be sympathetic, let alone fix the issue. I dont think I need to point out the irony in a magazine about Linux that doesnt work on Linux. Second, despite the fact that I have an active subscription, and all of the back issues, the app keeps bombarding me with offers to buy the back issues I already own. As I mentioned, this is a 5-star app, but since neither the publisher nor Apple will fess up to how badly youre getting screwed by buying this way, I thought Id try to save at least one other person from this debacle. tl;dr: DO NOT BUY MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTIONS THROUGH APPLE IF YOU OWN ANY NON-APPLE DEVICES!!!!!!
